TENCEL® at the ECO Textile AWARD 08 |
Karin Maislinger was awarded first place in Austria’s first Design Competition for eco-fashion.
She received the ECO Textile AWARD 08. The winning model “brimstone butterfly“, made of TENCEL® is persuasive in terms of its eco-quality and couture. The two curators, Lisa Niedermayr and Barbara Denk, deliberately sought alternative indigenous fibers because the global demand for eco-cotton can barely be met.
TENCEL® is quite simply stronger |
The standard fiber TENCEL® offers a host of improvements from classical textiles of cotton.
For example, stronger yarns and fabrics can be produced as a result of the excellent tenacity profile of TENCEL®. An admixture of TENCEL® as small as just 30 % optimises further processing of the properties of the yarns and fabrics. Another advantage is the purity of TENCEL®. The TENCEL® fiber reveals no impurities at all, and cotton yarns can be refined with this admixture. Finer and more even yarns lead to a higher productivity in yarn and fabric production. TENCEL® gives cotton products a higher quality and guarantees a natural wear comfort.

Charity-Shirt of Lenzing Modal® |

The Conley’s Charity-Shirt “Drop Dead“ is a blend of cotton and Lenzing Modal®.
100% of the proceeds for this shirt go to the drinking water initiative, Viva con Agua. This was set up in the year 2005, by a former FC St. Pauli football player. This program is committed to assuring the humane access to clean drinking water. It carries out projects in collaboration with World Hunger Relief which improve the supply of drinking water in developing countries. Lenzing is a supporter of this project and is raffling 10 ladies‘ T-shirts among emailbox readers! Legal proceedings are excluded. The winner will be informed by e-mail. No cash payments are possible for the prizes. The shirt can be ordered from: www.CONLEYS.de

Certification without hitches
Certification regulations for fabrics of Lenzing fibers have been tightened to protect Lenzing brands.
The new “Guidelines” contain instructions for the use of these brands. Now, in the case of abuse, mis-users will be legally prosecuted with no exception. Using Lenzing brands in the future without certification will be expensive.

Lenzing FR® quality partner program now further extended
The Lenzing FR® quality partnership unites the strengths of two established Austrian companies, Lenzing in its role as fiber manufacturer and Reindl, as a producer of industrial protective clothing.
Innovation and flexibility as well as a strong sales structure at the “Point of Sales” were decisive when it came to deciding to award the Lenzing FR® quality partner certificate to Reindl.
